DAKOTA GOLD CLUB ANNOUNCED

You've heard of Black Gold and Texas Tea.  Well, how about "Dakota Gold". Dakota Gold is the rich, black soil found by settlers who came here to homestead.  This same soil was used to construct their sod homes and to build the recently erected sod house in Frederick, SD, in their honor.
The Frederick Area Historical Society is pleased to announce the formation of the Dakota Gold Club.  For a donation of $250 or more, you will receive a dinner plate size cedar slab cut from the same trees used to frame the roof of the sod house.  The varnished slab will have an engraved plate identifying you as a member of the Dakota Gold Club.  Once a museum is established, the membership list of the Dakota Gold Club will be permanently displayed.
These slabs will be suitable for hanging in your office or den.  Consider them as gifts for that Frederick native who has everything.  But, most of all, you'll be helping to preserve Frederick's heritage through the Historical Society's Museum Projects.
